Scholarship Talk UK: 3 Great Opportunities Every Student Should Look Into
Scholarship Talk UK: 3 Great Opportunities Every Student Should Look Into
Introduction
The UK has an extensive and comprehensive education system, with a wide range of scholarships, grants, and other financial support available to help students. And that’s great — because there are plenty of costs involved in studying at university or college in the UK. From tuition fees to housing to living expenses, paying your way through school can add up quickly. While some students are fortunate enough to have their expenses paid for by family members or their own earnings from part-time jobs, many students rely on student financial loans and other sources of funding—such as scholarships—to cover their costs. If you’re a student who is currently studying or considering the possibility of pursuing higher education in the UK, here are three excellent scholarship opportunities you should look into before making any decisions about how you will fund your studies:
If you’re a UK student, you are eligible for various scholarships and grants.
Scholarships and grants are financial awards that are awarded to students based on their academic performance, extracurricular activities, or other criteria. These can be used for tuition fees paid at institutions, cost of living expenses, and even travel expenses associated with study abroad programs.
There are also different types of scholarships:
- Academic Scholarships – this is a reward given to students who have excelled academically and in extra-curricular activities during high school or college. The award amount may vary depending on the level of achievement achieved by the student but it is usually enough to cover all or part of their academic expenses; o Merit-Based Scholarships – these awards are based solely on merit rather than financial need (such as federal Pell Grants). They often come with additional requirements such as maintaining certain GPAs;
- Need-Based Grants – these grants provide assistance for low-income families who cannot afford higher education without additional financial aid from outside sources like government agencies or philanthropic foundations
The British Library Research Awards Scheme:
The British Library Research Awards Scheme is a collaborative partnership between the British Library and Cambridge University Press, offering to fund original research projects that use library collections.
The British Library Research Awards Scheme is for young researchers to carry out a research project in any area of the Library’s collection, from medieval manuscripts to contemporary archives.
Entrants must be aged between 18 and 25 years old, but can be based anywhere in the world.
The British Library Research Awards Scheme offers selected individuals the opportunity to spend up to six months working with an expert guide at the British Library on a research project related to their area of interest. They will also receive financial support from the British Library Trust.
Master’s Excellence Scholarship:
A Master’s Excellence Scholarship is an award given to a student studying towards a Master’s degree at an accredited university or college. The amount varies depending on your field of study but can be anywhere from $10,000 to $25,000 USD. Applicants must have completed their undergraduate coursework with good grades and must have at least 3 years of experience working in their field (or relevant work experience).
The scholarship amounts vary based on what type of program you are applying for and where you plan on attending school. For example, if you are planning on pursuing a health care management degree at the University of Maryland then you could be awarded up to $15,000 per academic year (2 semesters). If that doesn’t seem like enough money then consider going outside of America; some British universities offer scholarships worth up to £1 million! While these top-tier programs might be out of reach financially right now there are plenty more options available here in America—if not through one organization then through another one!
The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) Diversity Scholarships:
The ICAEW is the world’s largest accounting body, with more than 159,000 members in 150 countries. It offers a range of awards and scholarships to students from diverse backgrounds. The Diversity Scholarship is designed to support students who are from underrepresented groups within the profession, including BAME (Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic) students.
The scholarship amounts to £2,000 per year for up to three years. It can be used towards tuition fees, travel expenses, and accommodation costs. The award also covers membership of the ICAEW for one year after graduation.
This scholarship will open for applications on Monday 31st May 2022 at 17:00 BST and will close on Wednesday 9th July 2022 at 17:00 BST. For further information visit https://www.icaew.com/about-us/scholarships
Few Others Worth Mentioning
Future Leaders Fellowship: The Future Leaders Fellowship is a scholarship program that provides funding for postgraduate study in the UK.
Future Leaders Fellows are selected on the basis of academic excellence, leadership potential, and a commitment to making a difference in society.
The fellowship is open to outstanding international students who wish to pursue postgraduate studies at any UK university in any subject (including medicine). The fellowship covers tuition fees, stipend (£13,500 per year), travel expenses, and accommodation. The stipend amount may vary depending on the university and subject you choose.
Eligibility requirements:
Applicants must be non-EU students who are currently enrolled at an accredited institution outside the UK;
Applicants must have completed at least two years of undergraduate education or equivalent as determined by the British Council;
Applicants should have already been accepted by an eligible institution for study at a postgraduate level;
Applicants should have achieved excellent performance in their undergraduate studies or equivalent as determined by the British Council;
The Rhodes Scholarship: One of the most prestigious scholarships in the world, the Rhodes Scholarship is open to applicants from all over the world. It was established in 1902 by Cecil Rhodes, a British businessman, and politician, who left his estate to fund two scholarships at Oxford University.
Today, there are three Rhodes Scholarships awarded each year: one for study at Oxford University (England), one for study at Cambridge University (England), and one for study at the University of South Africa. Each scholarship covers all tuition fees plus a stipend of $50,000 per year for two years at Oxford or Cambridge or four years in South Africa. The scholarship also includes travel expenses, room, and board during your stay abroad – as well as an allowance for books and other supplies not covered by your home university’s budget (in England).
To be eligible for this incredible opportunity, you must first be nominated by your country’s National Selection Committee which will then forward its nominations to the Trustees of Rhodes House in Oxford who will make their final selection from among these nominees. You must also meet certain criteria including being under 30 years old, having exceptional academic achievement and leadership qualities – as well as demonstrating a commitment to public service through community work or political activism
Conclusion
We hope that this post has demonstrated that there are plenty of opportunities out there for those willing to look properly. From local and national competitions to international awards, anyone with a little effort can increase their chances of funding their education. The only limit is your own dedication and desire to succeed.
These are just three of the many scholarships and grants out there for UK students. Whatever your area of study or career goal, it’s worth spending some time researching what opportunities might be available to you—you may not find anything, but you also might find a really good opportunity! Don’t forget that these sources of funding can make all the difference in getting your higher education, so don’t rule them out because they seem like too much work. Good luck!

Post UTME 2023/2024: List of Schools Whose Forms Are Out

Post UTME 2023/2024: List of Schools Whose Forms Are Out
Starting your higher education journey in Nigeria is both thrilling and challenging, especially given today’s economy. If you’re a hopeful student eagerly anticipating updates on the post-UTME examination, you’re in the right place. After the 2023/2024 JAMB UTME examination, tertiary institutions will begin screening and aptitude tests for candidates applying to different departments.
In this guide, you’ll find the list of tertiary institutions whose Post UTME forms are currently out. We’ll also share essential tips and information for the admission process. Keep in mind that not all universities or polytechnics require Post UTME exams. If your institution isn’t listed, it might mean the list isn’t out yet or they use a different screening process for admissions.
What is Post UTME?
Post Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (Post UTME), is a standardized test conducted by universities, polytechnics and colleges in Nigeria. It is an entrance screening test/exam conducted after the JAMB UTME/DE examination. This screening is conducted by various tertiary institutions to assess candidates’ academic abilities and suitability for admission. It often includes subjects relevant to the chosen course of study and may include screening, or interviews. Post UTME scores, combined with JAMB scores, contribute to the overall admission evaluation, allowing universities to select candidates based on a more comprehensive assessment of their academic potential.
Is Post UTME Form Out?
Yes, the Post UTME form is now available. JAMB has announced the start date for selling the forms, so institutions conducting Post UTME will begin selling them.

When is the Closing Date/Deadline for Post UTME Registration?
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially set December 5, 2023, as the closing date for the registration and screening of Post UTME for the 2023/2024 session. Please note that this date could be subject to changes, and we’ll keep you informed of any updates here. In essence, JAMB has fixed December 5, 2023, as the final date for institutions to conduct Post UTME registration and screening. If there are any changes, we’ll make sure to keep you posted.
Conclusion
Getting admitted into your desired college or university depends on how well you perform in the screening exam or aptitude test. Not all Nigerian schools conduct Post UTME aptitude tests; instead, they rely on JAMB results and O’level grades for screening. Before applying for any school’s Post UTME, it’s crucial to check the JAMB Subject Combinations and O’Level requirements in the JAMB Brochure to ensure you meet the criteria.
