NSE: All shares index depreciates by 0.45 percent



Activities on the Nigerian Stock Exchange extended losses on Wednesday as the All Shares Index (ASI) depreciated by 0.45 percent.

The ASI which had earlier opened transaction at 37,421.01 basis points and at 37,253.25 per cent, when compared to Tuesday’s closing of 13,556 trillion Naira, the market depreciated by 0.45 per cent or 61 billion Naira.

Investors exchanged a total of 2.9 million shares worth 3.7 trillion Naira in 3,526.00 deals.

A total of 17 stocks gained at the close of Wednesday’s transactions, 25 stocks depreciated while all others remained unchanged.


Custodian Investment PLC leads the gainers table with 0.57 kobo or 10.00 per cent after opening transactions at N5.70 kobo per share and closing at N6.27 kobo per share.

MCNICHOLS PLC  follows with an opening price of 0.81 kobo per share and a closing price of 0.89 kobo per share, gaining 0.08 kobo or 9.88 per cent.

11 PLC was third top gainer with an opening price of N165.00 kobo per share and a closing price of N180.50 kobo per share, gaining N15.50 kobo or 9.39per cent.


Julius Berger  Nig. PLC.  which opened transaction at N30.00 kobo per share and closed at N27.00kobo per share, fell by N3.00 or 10.00 per cent.

Thomas Wyatt Nig. PLC opened transaction at 0.34 kobo per share and closed on Wednesday at 0.31kobo per share, making a fall of 0.03 kobo or 8.82 per cent.

Third top loser for today is Linkage Assurance PLC with an opening price of 0.80 kobo per share and a closing price of 0.73 kobo per share, depreciating by 0.07 kobo or 8.75per cent.
