FG to spend N15bn on solid mineral exploration: Nigeria plans to spend N15bn (US$41.6m) next year to explore for solid minerals and attract investors into mining and reduce its dependence on oil, the minister of solid minerals development, Kayode Fayemi, has said. Fayemi said that because Nigeria is starting from a low base, the ministry wants to have a portfolio of exploration activities in place that could whet the appetite of the average investor who wants to come into the sector.
