Equities trading on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) continued on a downward curve as the All-Share Index (ASI) lost 87 points to closed lower at 37,606.23points.
However, a total of 257 million Ordinary shares were traded as against 256 million units sold in the previous transaction amounting to 0.45percent increase.
In the same vein, the value of traded shares increased by 42.38 percent to close at N2.65 billion in contrast to N1.86 biliion. The equities market has experienced two consecutive declines since the commencement of the trading week.
A Market analyst at APT Securities & Funds Limited said the market would make a U turn before the end of the week. Market breadth closed within the red zone with 13 gainers against 30 losers.
All Sectorial indices closed in the red save for NSE Insurance due to bargain purchase in PRESTIGE (9.43%), ROYALEX (9.09%), CUSTODIAN (7.42%), MBENEFIT (5.88%), NEM (4.62%) and HMARKINS (3.57%). MARKET ACTIVITY.
